Our gardening noticeboard

Coolagown Development Group were this year’s winners in the Community and Voluntary Sector of the Cork Environmetal Forum’s annual Environmental Awards. 

The Co Cork group was recognised for its long-standing work in creating a sustainable village environment and in particular, addressing waste and energy issues with local solutions. The Community Garden Award Winner was the Glen Community Garden which has been going since 2008 using a partnership approach. The award was presented by Peter Dowdall. Bernie Connolly, CEF Development Coordinator congratulated all of the winners and thanked all those who participated in the CEF’s event this year.

Bandon Flower Club present a flower arranging demonstration “Christmas Magic” by Carmel O’Driscoll AOIFA in The Munster Arms Hotel, on Monday, December 15, at 8pm. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served. There will also be a Christmas sales table. Visitors most welcome.

Sunday’s Well Flower & Garden Club will hold its Christmas worknight and club party with Rita Moore on Wednesday, December 17, at 8pm in St Vincent’s Parish Centre. Members only.
