All hail the Allium

Being in the garden this month has been something entirely special. Whether it’s sitting down with a cup of coffee (and the never-mentioned chocolate bar), or doing some work like cutting back and planting — it has truly been a special month.

With daytime temperatures sometimes hitting the mid-twenties it has at times seemed surreal to experience these hand in hand with the more typical autumn mornings and evenings where it has been decidedly chilly. Daytimes have been more reminiscent of a good high summer and yet the shorter evenings and dropping night time temperatures remind us that we are not just entering autumn, but slap bang in the middle of the year’s fall.
