Auntie Agatha’s pants
Along with roses and all flowering perennials the Agapanthus are loving this fantastic sunny hot summer and if the forecasts are to be believed there is even more to come later in August.
I will always remember working in a garden centre many moons ago and getting a phone message passed on to me from a fellow staff member who knew a lot more about fixing a lawnmower engine than I ever would but wasn’t that up to date on his herbaceous perennials, and the message was along the lines of: ‘Peter there was a lady on the phone earlier wondering if we have a particular plant in stock’ ‘Which plant is that’ I said. ‘ I really can’t remember the name,’ he said, ‘but it sounded like Aunt Agatha’s Pants’!
