Apart from transplanting, thinning and making successional sowings, maintenance of your vegetable crops should be top of your agenda. You may even be short on space, crying out because all your beds are chockablock as you attempt to squeeze in the last of your sowings.

At this time of year weeds will go wild if not kept under control so make sure to keep on top of them when they are at the seedling stage.
