Plans lodged for student apartments on former Cork convent site

A developer has unveiled plans for a major student apartment development on the site of a former convent in Cork.
Lyonshall Limited has applied for permission for a large-scale residential development at a site located at the former St Josephs Convent on Model Farm Road in Cork.
The works include the demolition of the convent to provide for the construction of a 450-bed purpose-built student accommodation development, The proposed development would include three apartment blocks, ranging in height from two- to five- storeys, and include a total of 42 apartments, which would range in size from three to six bedrooms.
It also includes 224 studio apartments.
The proposed new development would be accessed via Model Farm Road.
