In west Cork’s trendy Clonakilty

NOT all of Clonakilty’s splendours are on the coastal side of the west Cork town — inland side spots, like Shannonvale, have a special air to them, as well.

In west Cork’s trendy Clonakilty

Shannonvale, set off the main Cork to Clonakilty road, can be located by its landmark old granary building, a distinctive, tall structure that looks like a rusty Dutch barn grafted onto a silo: not too distant is this modern, detached Shannonvale house, a new market arrival with Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill, who seek offers of €445,000.

It is a five-minute drive to Clonakilty town, or ten or 15 minutes to sandy beaches, while Cork city is a 45-minute commute. Ray O’Neill, of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill, says the house, with its feature brick lintels set into the plastered exterior, is in turn-key condition and decorated in neutral colours and creamy shades, with natural material finishes, and comes with four first-floor bedrooms, two of them en suite and with a walk-in wardrobe in the main bedrooms.
