We were evicted from our centre, say students

UCC students were angered and amazed when they were denied access to their student centre on Monday and Tuesday last when the centre played host to the Conference on Development of Cardiology, Audit and Registration Data Sets (CARDS).

We were evicted from our centre, say students

In a letter to Prof Gerry Wrixon, I, as acting president of the Students' Union, stated that UCC the University of the Year deprived students of computer facilities, eating and recreational areas and space available for late-night study. To add insult to injury, students were also denied access to the student car park. All this without adequate notice and at the most stressful time of the year.

Students resent being locked out of a building they have paid for. They demand an apology for the disruption caused and for the lack of adequate notice of this eviction.
