Childhood obesity report - We need action, not more words

The report on tackling childhood obesity by the Oireachtas Committee on Children and Youth Affairs has been described by Chris Macey, head of advocacy with the Irish Heart Foundation, as a “watershed moment in the national response to child obesity”.

Let us hope that his is not too optimistic a view, considering how many worthwhile reports on the health of the nation fail to be acted upon.
