Lowest EU defence spending: It’s time to join the real world

Even the most optimist pacifist can hardly cheer the figures that show that Ireland spent the lowest percentage of GDP on defence among 28 European Union nations in 2016.

Even battered and bruised Greece spent much more — they dedicated 2% but we managed just 0.3%.
