Tsunami relief - Generosity a credit to the nation

Whatever about the conduct of some people on St Patrick’s Day, there can no doubt whatever that we can be proud of Ireland’s generosity when it comes to contributing towards disaster relief.

It was revealed yesterday that Irish people donated €75 million to the victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

In the midst of daily news of corruption, depravity, greed and unsocial behaviour, it is nice to read about such magnificent generosity, thoughtfulness and compassion.
