Homeless figures do not add up

BEHIND the row over the accuracy of Government estimates for the number of homeless people in Ireland, there is a harrowing scenario involving thousands of personal tragedies.

According to the Simon Community, the situation is far worse than the Coalition admits.

Its criticism of official estimates must be taken seriously as the voluntary group works at the coal-face of the country’s homeless problem.
