Unemployment figures - Minister must tackle jobless challenge

Social and Family Affairs Minister Seamus Brennan was right to ask why we have 150,000 people unemployed while 100,000 people who migrated to this country during the past 12 months seemed to have had little difficulty finding employment.

“They should actually be able to get a job,” Mr Brennan said. “What is the problem? Why are they not able? Why can 100,000 people come and get work and our guys can’t?”
