Now that Robert Holohan has been laid to rest, it is vital that what happened to him should not be allowed to slip from public consciousness until the culprit or culprits are apprehended.

People must retain the deep sense of outrage and indignation as well as an intense desire for closure.

Evidence suggests that Robert died of asphyxiation after being grabbed in a headlock by his attacker. The killer may not have meant to kill the boy. If this was so, he should heed the advice of senior gardaí and the Bishop of Cloyne in giving himself up.
