Care children need more than drugs

A SOCIAL care expert has warned that in future years we are likely to need a tribunal to investigate how the State could have allowed the current practice of medicating children in care.

This will cost a huge amount of money, because the practice is being seriously abused.

We are currently witnessing the cost of child abuse in previous decades. People, who were unsuited to look after children, were given authority in residential institutions and essentially, afforded a free hand with what, we now know, were utterly disastrous consequences.
