PUBLIC confidence in the country’s biggest bank has been further eroded by the damning report of the financial watchdog IFSRA on AIB’s practice of overcharging thousands of foreign exchange customers.

What people will most find perplexing is that for several years the bank went on taking money that it was not entitled to, even though key managers knew what was going on.

To make matters worse, though it had seven opportunities to come clean, AIB attempted to sweep the affair under the carpet.
