Time for McCreevy’s resignation

THE time has come for Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy to take a dose of his own harsh medicine and resign.

For the past two years he has overseen the mismanagement of the economy as public spending spiralled out of control by 20%.

Six months ago, he denied any cutbacks were planned “secretly or otherwise”. At the time, he was honing the axe to slash spending after the votes were bought.
