Right to education - State stance on legal bill reprehensible
Having had to fight the State in the High Court, Martina and Kieran Walsh have been told by officials of the Department of Education that they may have to pay legal fees which have been estimated to be in the region of 350,000.
It is an unconscionable stance adopted by the department and it would be difficult not to come to the conclusion that it is an attitude aimed at preventing other parents from resorting to court to win a right to education for their children.
