Dairygold U-turn - Truth vital when jobs are at stake

THE duplicity of some Irish companies when confronted with questions of importance to both their workers and the public is hard to fathom.

A case in point concerns the decision of Dairygold to transfer 120 staff from Mitchelstown and Mallow to a new headquarters at Cork Airport Business Park.

When the move was first reported, the company rushed to deny the story, even though it had sought planning permission for its new headquarters at the time.
