Judge attack on Martin indefensible

THE attack on Health Minister Micheál Martin by Judge Alison Lindsay is remarkable both for its ferocity and also because it represents a threat to organise a judicial boycott of future tribunals.

Following her investigation of the infected blood product scandal, the judge last year accused Mr Martin of failing to defend her report.

The document came in for trenchant criticism both from victims and also in the Dáil and the media because it did not point the finger of blame at those responsible for infecting hundreds of women.
