Gay rights - Survey points way to more liberal society

DRAMATIC changes in Irish attitudes to homosexuality and the rights of gay people — as revealed in today’s Irish Examiner/Red C opinion poll — are to be warmly welcomed.

In stark contrast with the deeply homophobic atmosphere of relatively recent times, it is clear that public opinion is undergoing major transformation.

Tolerance and acceptance of homosexuality are key features of the national survey, showing that times are changing in a positive manner.
