Catholic Church - Challenging the accepted frameworks

UNTHINKABLE a few years ago, the shock results of a survey among Irish priests reflect the radically changing face of the Catholic Church in Ireland.

Astonishingly, more than half the priests queried about compulsory celibacy believe the Vatican ban should be lifted.

And in a further sign of the times, three quarters believe the role of women within the Church is not fully recognised.
