Government must publish schools data

WITH the results of the Leaving Cert due out on Wednesday the findings of today’s Irish Examiner survey of feeder-schools for universities are highly significant.

As nearly 60,000 teenagers and their parents ponder future career options, it is appalling that the Government continues to withhold from the public basic information about schools which produce undergraduates for universities and other third level institutes.

Even though four out of five parents regard this information as vital in deciding what school their children will attend they have to rely on media research.
