Tsunami aid - We must not forget other poor nations

THE aid agency Concern has taken a timely step by urging people to staunch their generous financial support for the victims of the Asian tsunami.

Having received €5 million of the €20m donated to a range of agencies, including GOAL and the Red Cross, Concern is simply reminding the public that other areas are also in need of emergency aid.

Over the next five years, Concern will roll out €50m, including money donated by the Irish Government, for the rehabilitation of entire communities in the disaster zones of Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
