We need to know cause of breaches

The dramatic increase in breaches of discipline in the Defence Forces is a matter of public concern.

The latest figures show an average increase from 79 a month during the first 10 months of 2002 to 136 a month for the whole of last year.

There was no noticeable spin-off in civilian society, even though the increase amounted to a staggering rise of 72%.
