Abortion poll - Public may soon favour legalisation

Many people are likely to be surprised at the findings of the poll indicating that a distinct plurality of people under 35 - the people most affected - are in favour of legalising abortion.

The change in attitudes over the past two decades seem to suggest that there could be a majority in favour of legalised abortion within the next decade.

Nevertheless a plurality of the overall electorate still favours the pro-life option by 47% to 36%. There is a dramatic difference between the attitudes of older and younger people on the issue.
