Penalty points - System must not be undermined

The Government must tackle the problems in the penalty points system before it turns into a fiasco.

The system was initially welcomed as a success, because of the dramatic drop in the rate of accidents.

Hundreds of people are alive who would otherwise be dead, and thousands have been saved the agony of serious injuries, but the death rate has been showing an alarming increase in recent months.
