Time to see Coalition’s conscience

HITTING the poorest in society, while lining the pockets of the richest, has become a hallmark of the Scrooge-like policies emanating from the Fianna Fáil-PD administration.

It is shameful, to put it mildly, that the horsey set, of which Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy is so enamoured, should benefit handsomely from a tax-free breeding arrangement while organisations like the Simon Community suffer the brunt of his cutbacks.

The New Year could hardly herald worse news for Simon workers if the experience in Cork is echoed nationally.
