Consultant resignation - Does anyone believe HSE’s promises?
Dr Sean O’Rourke, who had previously threatened to leave his post because of what he claimed was inadequate staffing, has given notice of his intention to resign in the spring.
There have been growing concerns about understaffing at the hospital’s A&E unit, which sees around 28,000 new patients annually. Kerry doctors supported Dr O’Rourke’s efforts to secure extra staff, last month, by protesting publicly at the hospital.
