Mick Clifford: Apartment Vat cut makes no sense and won’t boost housing supply

A Vat cut meant to boost apartment construction has instead exposed a circular, ineffective policy that neither lowers costs nor increases supply

Sometimes crisis can lead to farce. 

So it goes with one of the heralded measures announced in last month’s budget. If the issue wasn’t so serious, the outcome so ridiculous, it would almost be funny.
