The most revealing moment in US president Donald Trump’s White House meeting with European leaders came during a ‘hot mic’ moment when Trump was overheard discussing his relationship with Russian president Vladimir Putin. 

“I think he [Putin] wants to make a deal for me, you understand that? As crazy as it sounds,” he whispered to French president Emmanuel Macron.
