The Trump administration has made no secret of its loathing for Europe, and the Signal chat shows us that hatred is visceral, not performative

The revelation that the Trump administration accidentally included a reporter from  The Atlantic on a group chat in the Signal messaging service and then shared highly-sensitive war plans for imminent air strikes in Yemen was — even by the standards since Trump’s inauguration — deeply shocking.

Donald Trump, JD Vance, and Pete Hegseth subsequently claimed that no classified information was shared in the chat group about the Yemen operation.
