Backing for leftist government led by Sinn Féin’s Adams
The grouping is hoping to create a left-led government which could possibly be made up of their own group, Sinn Féin, and any other left-leaning Independents. The group yesterday said the weekend’s opinion polls show the potential now exists to replace the Labour party with a “real left which will not betray the trust of the people they represent”.
AAA-PBP’s Paul Murphy said: “We have said very clearly that we are not going to enter into coalition deals with Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, or Labour; we would call on others to do the same. We have said that, after that, we are willing to discuss with others to see if a left programme for government could be agreed.”
