And government sources have indicated that if the Norwegian airline’s stalled licencing application isn’t resolved soon, the issue may be raised with US President Barack Obama during the Taoiseach’s annual St Patrick’s Day visit to the White House next month.

The news emerged yesterday as the Taoiseach hit Cork on the campaign trail.
