EC report lays bare the massive task facing Reilly

The latest European Commission document on Ireland does not mention James Reilly by name.

But it has laid bare the mounting problems the Health Minister is facing in his department, and given significant ammunition to his opponents. And not all those opponents are on the opposition benches.

The document is a draft of the commission’s summer 2012 review of Ireland’s progress under the bailout programme. It will be completed in the coming weeks, but it’s not expected the final version will differ much in tone or substance from the draft.
