Changing direction

The presidential candidates need to show the electorate that they embody a new direction for the country in the way that our previous two presidents did, writes Gerard Howlin

THE story of the last two presidential elections is of contests that anticipated and accelerated the changing direction of our country.

This race is also signposting a new Ireland. While much of our governance is discredited, it should be accepted that the 1937 Constitution has facilitated a diverse choice for the people to choose from.
