Irish people have had enough of the Roman Catholic Church. More and more of us have had enough of misogyny, dogmatism, and the vilification of the flesh.

More and more of us are ticking the ‘no religion’ box — 14% more of us in the last six years.

I’ve heard it said that by becoming less Catholic, we’re also becoming less Irish. Who are we without the fry-up after Sunday mass, without the Trócaire box on the table, and the Angelus on the radio?
