The pretence of good government

Judging by the various headlines of the last few weeks, it has never been more obvious that all our governments ever do is pretend to be able to solve the problems that all the previous governments created.
The pretence of good government

We, the poor, over-taxed electorate just work and watch the country go downhill — flood relief, mental health, hospital services, crime, the homeless, health-education, polluted drinking water, centres of dubious excellence at the expense of rural communities, etc., etc.

No wonder civilisations have been disappearing for thousands of years.

The only hope we have for a competent government, to save the country, is to hold the overpaid failures personally responsible for everything that goes wrong.
