Fergus O’Leary is absolutely correct, majorities are frequently wrong.

Also I am a “recovering” atheist, so I do have some sympathy with his position. I couldn’t reconcile a central core belief of atheism that something can come from nothing with my scientific studies. Also it became apparent to me that many atheist groups were purely negative/reactionary in nature.

More intent on a narrow minded attack on religion, primarily Catholicism, than on putting forward an alternative world view. Unless they can ditch their childish attacks on religion, and sideline some of their more extremist preachers, atheism cannot be taken seriously.
