Then, Israeli Cabinet secretary, Danny Naveh, openly replied to Pipes, confirming the talks.
According to Pipes, Netanyahu started those talks.
Bill Clinton, in his book, My Life (pp. 883-8) documents Ehud Barak’s willingness to return Golan Heights to Syria, for peace.
In 2012, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on talks between Israel and Syria, with U.S mediator, Frederic C. Hof.
This report was denied by Netanyahu’s office, but confirmed by the state department.
The talks were reportedly resumed by Netanyahu, for various reasons.
