The Middle East was carved up for Israelis by the ‘Mighty One of Israel’

Both Dr Fintan Sheerin and Dr Kevin McCarthy express their disdain at my referring (Irish Examiner, Letters, March 25) to the warning plainly written in the Hebrew scriptures that ‘The Mighty One’ of Israel, himself, determined the boundaries of the land of Israel, which he gave to the Jewish people for an everlasting possession. 

Dr Sheerin does not believe that “God would be engaged in the setting out of boundaries of countries” (Letters, April 1) and Dr McCarthy writes that I “irrationally introduce God” into the events and affairs in the Middle East which he describes as “a medieval dialogue that has no place in empirical discourse” (Letters, April 5).

Hippocrates is credited with being the first to introduce the doctrine of “empirical discourse” as his solution to the problems of mankind and which has been used as a tool by Christian and Muslim and other religious leaders and theologians over the last 2,000 years to deceive millions of their respective followers into denying, not only the very existence of, but also the absolute sovereignty of The Mighty One of Israel.
