Scrap the idea of a rural affairs minister, and use the tax system instead
There are too many people in the Dublin area and not enough houses and there aren’t enough people in the countryside where there are lots of houses empty and deteriorating in our miserable wet climate.
I think that a minister for rural affairs would be just a waste of resources and will not achieve much for the countryside.
I think that a preferential tax system is the way to go — maybe a 5% corporation tax for companies that put jobs into rural small or medium sized towns.
