When Shell starts to pump one trillion cubic feet of natural gas from the Corrib gasfield, where the returns for this country will be pittance as usual thanks to the reckless negligence of successive Governments, signed away byFianna Fáil and perpetuated by the outgoing Government. Shell have also stated that delays due to protests have cost the company €600m.

No doubt they will try and foist this upon the backs of Irish citizens. Corrib gas is worth over €6bn and was given away without any retention of State interest. These private multi-national oil companies will pay no royalties and, with tax write offs going back to the Fianna Fáil, era they will pay no tax at all.
