Having listened to the recent revelations in and around the BBC on the Jimmy Savile enquiry in the UK, one thing stood out that also explains the slow collapse of our own country.
We learn again that evil prospers when good men do nothing

Saville was able to continue abusing because, just as in all the cases of child abuse, medical negligence, abuse of old people in nursing homes, the worsening of our environment, general government incompetence etc, the people who could and should have done something to stop any of this pretended not to know.

Apparently, the fear of losing one’s job or of losing one’s enormous pension is nowadays far more important than taxpayers getting the rough end of the stick or vulnerable people suffering.
