A pocket watch may hold the key to ancestry

A pocket watch may hold the key to ancestry

Mr Mannix has an engineer pocket watch he inherited from his father, who told him that it belonged to his great grandfather.

He is interested in some information on the Limerick and Waterford Railway Company and the Sligo to Claremorris and Castlebar line of the Great Southern Railways during the late 1800s. He has established that his ancestor, Michael Mannix, worked various lines there for 55 years, retiring in 1932.
