Crimes by migrants are the ‘real xenophobia’

Brussels correspondent, Ann Cahill, in her article “Migrant issue in hands of politicians focused on next election” (March 9), decribes “xenophobic citizens” anxious about an influx of Muslim migrants from the Middle East.

Perhaps the real xenophobia is something which Ms Cahill, and the rest of the Irish media, have persistently ignored: the appalling crime wave committed by many migrant men across Europe, but particularly in Germany.

The situation is so bad that authority figures, from mayors to school principals, have called on parents to cover up their daughters, so as to avoid ‘provoking’ rape or sexual assault.
