The entrenched positions adopted by the various parties following the inconclusive election results, has created an impasse in the formation of a government.

One option which should definitely be ruled out is calling another general election, which would inevitably result in a repetition of the current chaos. The unanimous assertion is that the democratic verdict of the electorate should be respected. If such is the situation, and the fact that no party or group have been given a comprehensive mandate, there is a strong case for the formation of an all party national government, with a ministerial team selected from the various groups in proportion to their elected members.

This of course would include representatives of independents and other smaller parties.
