We must change our attitude to planning

Citizens have taken a case against the Dutch government for its lack of effective action on climate change. The court ruled a state must take precautions against global warming.

The Minister of the Environment early last year mandated a change in the wording of Cork County Council’s development plans giving preference to incineration over other methods.

This encouraged Indaver to apply for a third time to build a municipal/Toxic incinerator on a site that floods (four times in the last 12 years) and erodes, extensively after Storm Frank.
