Irish electoral landscape is different to the UK’s

Maybe Fine Gael would have done better had the Taoiseach and his advisers examined the situation and tendencies in their own country instead of looking to the U K to slavishly copy the Tory party?

They didn’t even seem to consider that the voting system is very different here.
