Sarandon’s comments undermined quality of debate

I think the comment ‘I don’t vote with my vagina’ comment by actress Susan Sarandon is, to put it mildly, trivialising the lack of equality for women in democracies.

Because they live longer, women are a majority in the population but have derisory representation in most of the parliaments of the world.

Their interests, talents and perspectives are marginalised in what is supposed to be representative democracies.
