Everybody will age, and it should be the policy of all governments to ensure provision is in place for them to do so graciously.

Taking a mother’s medical card from her, aged 95, for being €3 over limit, and leaving the family face medical bills of hundreds of euro monthly, doesn’t depict compassion. This example was dealt with by a canvasser in Dun Laoghaire last week.
